Keanu Reeves- Bad Ass Zen Master In Disguise?
I wrote this article for two reasons. One, it is obvious I am a big fan of Canadian actor Keanu Reeves as most of his movies have an underlying humanity message. (leaving out his 1989 movie of “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.” Lol!) Second, I read two articles about him that really impressed me and wanted to share. The first being an article based on the life quotes of Keanu Reeves and second, a picture of him at a red-carpet premier for the first time in 20 years with a woman he had proposed to and will marry. Of course, she is awesome; artist, producer, writer, etc. A longtime acquaintance that he felt he was ready to love again and get serious about this woman he so admired.
He’s had more than his share of tragedies, which he rarely discusses. The loss of child in stillbirth and then the child’s mother from a car accident. He has never owned a home in his 30 successful years as a movie star until he bought one for his sister when she had leukemia. (She survived and he is a major charitable contributor to leukemia research) He lived nomadic most of his acting career, staying in motels and basically acquiring nothing. He donates approximately 80% of what he earns to different charities and eco environment organizations.
He has always been a non-movie star persona and completely unreadable or predictable by movie star standards. There has never been any negative press that I could find on him and the word “kind” kept on coming up in describing him. He definitely has all the traits of an advanced soul using the media to send a positive message. He is complex in his own energy as calm and kind but he is attracted to making kick-butt violent action movies. Reading his personal quotes from interviews, I found it fascinating and worth the share. Plus, what makes him so darn cute is his unusual approach to life. Here are few notable quotes from the actor from his TV and magazine interviews.
1.Every struggle in your life has shaped you into the person you are today. Be thankful for the hard times, they can only make you stronger.
2. I do think there must be some kind of interaction between your living life and the life that goes on from here.
3. Mortality is very different when you’re 20 to when you’re 50.

8. Sometimes simple things are the most difficult things to achieve.

20. Sometimes we get so caught up in our daily lives that we forget to take the time out to enjoy the beauty in life. It’s like we’re zombies. Look up and take your headphones out. Say “Hi” to someone you see and maybe give a hug to someone who looks like they’re hurting.
21. The simple act of paying attention can take you a long way.
22. Sure I believe in God and the Devil, but they don’t have to have pitchforks and a long white beard.
Susan Z’s Verdict:
Pretty impressive? The quote I was most impressed with was; “The simple act of paying attention can take you a long way.” Making connection with life is the most cherished gift of living. Your first breath with the creator of life, the mother who carried you into this world, next discovering the connection with yourself as an infant discovering your toes and then with every new connection you make helps you decide what you will do with the free will given you in this life.
